Hummmmmmmmm now what?????

It's only April and my cantaloupe melon has out growen it's 51/2 foot trellis so now what It has a few more blooms and one small fruit started Shocked but now it's out climed the trellis Rolling Eyes Does one clip the top or now what??? thinking

Lucky you! My melons only got like two feet tall last year, but then, it's much colder where I live than where you live. I would say... let it start growing down or add an extension, like Camp said. I've also heard that it helps the melons develop better if you snip the end of the vine (which, I'm pretty sure, will stop all vine growth; someone correct me if I'm wrong). So if you have 2 or 3 melons on the vine, you can probably snip the end of the vine. Otherwise, I say let it keep growing Smile

I was kinda hoping my melon would only get a few feet high Rolling Eyes but this thing just took off What a Face What a Face I don't remember them growing this why at all new ground for me :scratch: study
