Greetings from (currently) sunny Washington!

Post  sarah465 on 5/6/2013, 6:08 pm

Hi everyone happy hi ,

New to the forum, but this will be our third square foot garden. My boyfriend and I have moved multiple times in the past few years, but we love to garden so have managed to get something going at each new location. This season is our biggest yet: we have set up five 2x6 beds, one with a plastic hoop house made from PVC pipes and plastic sheeting.

Inside the house we have tomatoes, peppers, and other starts going

Here is a picture of the peas we have going:

This year we are more adventurous/ambitious than we've been in the past, trying new veggies: lima beans, dwarf eggplant, onions from seed (yikes!), carrot, winter squash and melon - very exciting! Very Happy

Anyway, I'm so glad to have found this forum! It has already been so informative, and I'm looking forward to learning from all the other square foot gardeners here! Smile

Thanks jazzycat thanks ! I'm really looking forward to joining in conversations as the season progresses. And from reading over past threads the last few days it's becoming even more clear to me that I, too, have a lot still to learn Smile

Welcome - Happy Gardening!

Post  Windmere on 5/7/2013, 12:40 pm

Sarah465,

Welcome to this informative forum. I am brand new to SFG and I have learned so much in just two months.

I have had some missteps, but mainly I have had lots of success. There are so many experienced and helpful gardeners here.

I think you will enjoy the time spent reading here.

Again, welcome and happy gardening!

P.S. My daughter's name is Sarah. It is the favorite name of both my wife and myself.

glad you\'re here
