Hello from a newbie in Boise, ID!!

Post  Lunalady on 4/22/2010, 11:31 am

Hello, everyone! I am a brand-new gardener (much less SFG!) from Boise, Idaho and I'm *very* excited to learn all I can and grow some of my favorite vegetables! I don't plan on having a huge garden, since I live alone, but I would *love, love, love* to know that I'm eating the freshest vegetables I can possibly be eating!

Looking forward to getting to know others...

Hi Val,

glad you\'re here to the forum. There's some folks from around your way on the forum, I'm sure they'll be able to help with some of your questions about climate, planting times, etc.

So, how far along on your new journey are you? Have you got boxes made yet? Planted anything? We like pictures of anything and everything about SFG! It's easy to post them by following these instructions:

Happy gardening

Hi, Boffer!! Thank you so very much for the warm welcome! I have ordered the SFG book but it hasn't arrived yet. I have about 50 of the little peat pots planted with seeds and about 2/3rds of them have sprouted already (man, that little greenhouse thingy works GREAT, doesn't it???!!!) I'm still waiting on my cilantro, my green peppers and my jalapenos to sprout...

In talking to another friend who is an avid gardener, she told me that she usually doesn't have a lot of luck with growing peppers or cilantro from seeds. She buys the plants as babies and just transplants them into her garden. So I may have to do that...

And nope, no boxes made yet, either!

As you can see...I have a *long* way to go! But I sure am enjoying the journey!!

Thanks again for the welcome
