Worms in my radishes!

Post  brenda g on 6/25/2013, 9:23 am

I was so excited about my first harvest from the garden this year - the leaves were a bit chewed on, but the radishes looked otherwise lovely..... until I cut them up and discovered brown tunnels inside, one of them containing a tiny worm. (So very glad I didn't eat the radish whole!) My best guess based on an online search is it's a type of fly larvae.... Any ideas what else it may be or how to save the rest of my radishes?

Not sure about the current crop, but if you plant again you could cover the seedlings with tulle to keep the adult flies from laying eggs on the radishes.

I have the same troubles this year. Good luck.
