Bareroot Tomato experiment.

Post  quiltbea on 6/26/2013, 5:53 pm

I transplanted a bareroot tomato today.  This came about because over a month ago the wind broke off the top of a Golden Grape seedling when it was outdoors hardening off.  I brought it inside and stuck it in a small watering can with water, then promptly forgot about it.
I know that they can grow if you plant them in moist soil to root, but can they grow from water?  I'll soon find out.

She's in the garden today.  Let's see if she prospers.

Oh sure, bet that'll grow.

Speaking of dirt plantings, I pulled off some sweet little suckers about 10 days ago, stuck them in a box of dirt coz they looked so good. Saw them today and I couldn't believe my eyes. They are extremely healthy plants that need transplanting now.

And so it begins...
