more pics - pollinator garden near the SFG

Post  landarch on 6/27/2013, 9:57 pm

Here are some pics of my pollinator garden near my SFG...not seeing hardly any butterflies and bees at all this year...maybe two non-bumble bees in the last two weeks or so.  Seeing plenty of lacewings, ladybugs, and parasitic wasps.

purple coneflower (I noticed the little spider hiding after I downloaded the pics from the camera)

Blanketflower

Liatris (gayfeather) with tickseed coreopsis in background

Butterfly Milkweed (with ladybug)

Butterfly Milkweed (blooming with ladybug larva)

Jeeze, landarch Nice shots! What are you shooting with? I need me a new camera, amongst other things.

I use a simple Sony Cybershot with some special features...I think the setting I like the most is called "Mini"...it makes your shots look like they're a part of a miniature model with a really narrow area of focus...then I just crop for interest.

Nice shots!  I need a new camera.  I have a hard time getting closeups with my camera.  Never used to.  It's about 8 years old now.

Those are stunning shots Landarch.  You have both the skills for photography and for gardening.

I can't get over how vibrant the colors are.  Your pollinators will have a ball in you flower beds!
