nylon trellis neeting upstate SC

Post  jbaggett on 7/8/2013, 9:11 am

I live in Greenville, South Carolina. Does anyone know where I might find nylon trellis netting as recommended in Bartholomew's SFG book? 7" square opening?

Try your local grocer in the pantyhose section.

I bought mine at Home Depot. Looks like there are Home Depots in the Greenville area.

Um, bitmap, were you trying for a funny post ?  (That was nylon netting, not just nylons!)

Or if you don't want to go where sanderson or bwaynef found it, there's that other BIG, big-box store; or I would try a local garden center or garden supply shop.  Good luck.Smile

I apologize for my flippant comment out of ignorance. What is the difference between the nylon netting for shade and nylon in pantyhose used as support? Is nylon netting expensive and if so is there a cheap/homemade version from recycle bin/etc ?

I use the nylon stockings in the second picture to support heavy melons that grow vertically along the nylon netting in the first picture. Wink
