What's on my squash?!

Post  peachiee77 on 7/11/2013, 5:47 pm

I've seen these on a few leaves of my squash (I believe spaghetti squash - I cant remember which is which now!  haha).  I've scraped them off when I see them and squeezed them.  They kind of pop when I squeeze them.  The plant looks otherwise healthy.  Lots of flowers coming out (other than the ones some animals bite off!), the stems look sturdy and healthy and no sign of other disease.

Is this a pest?  something harmful?  What can I do to get rid of it?

Thanks

Hi,
Don't know what it is but I'm bold enough to share my terrible theory: There will never be a shortage of garden bugs, therefore if I don't know what it is, eliminate!
 What a Face
p.s. I still wonder what the little crab thing was sitting on my asparagus frond, no surprise I removed it pronto.

Seriously though, hope someone comes along with a good answer.

I still don't know what they were, but that looks just like what I was trying to describe in my answer back in 2010: http://squarefoot.creatingforum.com/t3895-bug-eggs-good-or-bad?highlight=bug+eggs+++good+++++bad
Another one that I recall was this one: http://squarefoot.creatingforum.com/t3669-bug-eggs-good-or-bad?highlight=bug+eggs+++good+++++bad
Imho, scraping & popping was the right thing to do (but llama momma said it better  Smile )

Looks like squash bug eggs.  See the blog below.  About 6 pictures down from the top.
