The Google bot

Post  boffer on 7/16/2013, 11:32 am

We know it's here everyday doing it's thing, but...wow!

I just did a Google search for "pnw tomato hornworms", in another window, not from the forum's index page.  Look at all the forum's SFG pictures that showed up.  I see several of mine, Roosters, Furbalsmom, and some others that I recognize.  If you hover your cursor over a pic, you can see the source.  Is one of your pictures there?

I was on my tablet when I first read this post and so couldn't hover over the pictures to see their source. But I did try it later and it is pretty cool how well this forum has permeated through the Google searches.

But I was reminded of this thread recently because there is a bit of a downside... Every now and then when researching a topic, I'll exhaust the posts here and then go to Google to see what else I can find from other sources. Imagine how frustrating it is when my Google searches only turn up the SFG forum threads!
