I was an avid viewer of the ABC's Gardening Australia when it was presented by Peter Cundall but since his retirement I am watching it less and less.

Not too impressed by the 'Bearded One'

Any comments, or is it just me?

Bearded One OK but a lot of the stories not that interesting and not enough on food plants like vegetable growing .

Ooops, yes indeed, it appears as a minus, the temp was 38 degrees C but thankfully today it's down to 25.

Nothing much on today in the garden.

This is how long I have been a nurse!  Medicine has been metric for many decades, with the notable exception of temperatures!   (Why?). Well, I worked in the mid 80s in a PICU and we were all metric (academia, it is ok).   That was the push...we always do it for weights and measures.  

So, it is 

Degrees Celcius x 9 divided by 5 plus 32  = Fahrenheit. 
My mantra
Times 9 divided by 5 plus 32.  

Yeah!  You guys were smokin!  100!  I would not be working out there either!

In Australia between 1970 and 1988, imperial units were withdrawn from general legal use and replaced with SI metric units, facilitated through legislation and government agencies.

I guess I'm fully converted except perhaps in measurement where I still relate to feet and inches and a typical example would be in following the instructions in planting seeds/seedlings where the distances are given in centimetres.
