Box on Legs for my Mom

Post  navajas on 7/21/2013, 6:55 pm

I made this ~2x6 box for my mom as one of her 60th birthday presents. She has trouble bending over and kneeling so I put it on stilts.

She's got the basil and beet transplants in there, plus carrots, radishes, parsnips, bush beans lettuce and spinach.

That's awesome. We just built one for my mom, too. It's 2X8 and we added a small 2 X 2 to go on the ground next to it in case she wants to trellis something. We put the MM in on Sunday and she is planning her fall garden.

I have my tabletops trellised. The easiest way to to have two tabletops and arch a cattle panel between them.

That sounds really neat and I'm hoping to try an overhead arching trellis at some point. My mom's really short (like me) and can't reach overhead very well. We are putting them next to her chain link fence so she can use that for a trellis if she wants to. Of course the best stuff will probably grow on the other side and she'll have to walk around. LOL
