Thanks sanderson for the great advice. BTW, do you have a favorite seed company? I was looking at organic seeds from Johnny's but they're pricey.

Dstack, I originally bought over 100 types of seeds from MyPatriotSupply.com. I planted one or two seeds from many of them in Feb to check them out. Very good germination and the resealable mylar packages and canisters are great. For things MPS didn't carry, such as Dragon Tongue beans, I bought from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds after I joined the Forum in March. And of course, Home Depot and OSH for common things.

Seeds from last year's tomatoes and peppers were free! And I planted garlic cloves from the grocery store.

Other members, in different regions, have their own suppliers. And don't forget the seed catalogs to read this winter.

Southern seed exposure is an option for the southern gardener. They are out of VA.

There is a thread on the forum called 'Seed Companies'. You may find something you like here.
