Good Tomato to start to grow on in cold frame?

Post  victorychick on 8/25/2013, 5:35 pm

I would like to grow some tomatoes this fall/winter. Has anyone had any success with starting plants now and growing them in a cold frame through the winter? I'm in middle Tennessee close to the Alabama line, zone 7a.

Welcome, Victorychick!

You may not be getting answers because I don't know if this is doable. I might be wrong. I know that often what people do is start tomatoes early, and in Zone 7, with a cold frame, I'm sure you could have a good, strong tomato plant early.

I'll be looking forward to hearing if anyone has had experience with keeping them throughout the winter.
