scored some free stuff today...

Post  landarch on 9/6/2013, 8:01 pm

was given some T5 grow light fixtures with plug-in power cords this evening...FREE...  I need to get them out of the front yard before the police or neighbors think I'm growing something other than veggies.

Very Happy  Just don't hire an electrician  or start hydroponics anytime soon, or they will really think something is up!

Those are great lights for raising strong young plants! I only have one, though. Congrats landarch.

Lovely, landarch:
If I had them I would be growing a variety of sprouts during the winter, then raising seedlings for spring planting.
I would be interested in how much they would cost if new? I know, I could Google it and find out myself. May do that.

Keljean...I looked them up...they retail for $159 each brand new.  I have a small sprout kit...may look into a more serious sprouting set-up.

I used to sprout a lot, and will probably take it up again. Luckily, most sprouts do not require greening, and those that do generally only need it for a few hours or a day.

plus they came with the T5 Lamps...need to plug them in to see if the bulbs are in working order.  They also have built-in hanging wire and on/off switches.
