Rose -  I'm only a month and 1/2 late answering your request !... Embarassed
The frozen watermelon is fine in a mixed fruit smoothie but eaten by itself it tasted a little off, like it was stale(?).  I think I may have frozen the fruit past its peak.

LLG I love this

Great compost eliminates the purchase of commercial fertilizer.

That's so nice of you, Thanks Smile Now heading into the 5th year of square foot gardening with zero purchase of commercial fertilizer. Such a nice way to work with nature and get results.

I agree LLM that not having to purchase any commercial fertilizer is something we can be proud of.
I managed it last year for the first time, thanks to gifts of horse and chicken manure, my neighbour who goes out of her way to give me everything she can, and all the leaves I collect most years. Thanks also to everything I have learned on this forum from all the lovely people here. love the idea

thank you, and thank you to hass.  We harvested all of the big ones today, and blanched them and froze them.
The most beautiful and vibrant green! We had about a 5 gallon ?? pot full!! Sooo happy this year!
There are pictures of it on the FB BTE page for anyone interested.

Have a good night all!!
