Howdie from Texas !!

Post  gategitter on 20th January 2014, 12:45 pm

Howdie !!
My name is Susy. I live in the panhandle of Texas in a tiny little town smack in the middle of God's Country !!  Surrounded by the caprock, we have been here for 8 years.  Love gardening and being outside. Have lots of dogs (hunting), horses, cattle, and 2 chickens.  Tried over and over to have a garden and it always ends up more than I can take care of so I am going to try the SFG idea. Love the thought of no weeds, little water wasted, and I dont have to plow anymore !!  Cant wait to get to learning !!

glad you\'re here  Susy. Follow the instruction in Mel's book, ALL NEW SQUAREFOOT GARDENING 2ND ED. You will like it. And get all that horse, cow and chicken manure started into a compost pile. Compost is essential in SFGing.
Start small and increase as you find your level of time for gardening. Some start with only one 4x4 bed, but if you are already used to gardening, you might handle 3 or 4 4x4 beds (or equivalent)
