Winter Olympics 2014

Post  boffer on 2/8/2014, 9:37 pm

Go U.S.A.!

Will this be the year that the  U.S. women's hockey team beats the Canadians?

Will the host country collect the most medals?

What's your favorite sport to watch?

My favorite part to watch? Closing ceremonies!

(Olympics kill our business!)

 Shocked   I sure hope not......

I have to say I am with Martha....

I guess I prefer to participate, rather than watch

Boffer, what are your favorites? If I had the opportunity to watch, I would be traditional - skating and skiing.

Eight years ago, the daughter of a woman I know was on the winning hockey team - that was pretty cool!

I've always liked the Giant Slalom, but I'm beginning to prefer snowboarding events over skiing.

Regardless of the sport, I always have the most fun rooting for the oddball athletes.  Remember the Brit ski jumper Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards?
...he became famous as an example of a plucky underdog or 'heroic failure', and of perseverance and achievement without funding that truly represents the British bulldog spirit.

And the athletes from small countries who are the sole athlete to represent their country.

And the idea of a Jamaican bobsled team always makes me laugh!  You dig, mon?   Razz
