Uploading an Avatar

I decided to change my profile picture today and am ashamed to say I do not see how to do it. I deleted the one that was there and there is a place to put a link, but what about uploading from my own picture files? I am confused. I have never found this template user friendly and my learning curve gets steeper every year. Smile

Chopper - here is a goofy work-around that might do. After reading your post I went to my profile to see what you were talking about. There was no button to upload from my computer like there was when I changed my avatar just a few days ago! BUT, from that screen I clicked on someone's post (anyone's, just pick one) under Latest Topics on the left side, then hit the back arrow on the browser, which took me back to my profile avatar page, and suddenly the link to upload from my computer appeared! Tried this 2 times and it worked both times to make it appear. Give it a try.

Thanks for the work around, GG.

Forumotion had big maintenance days scheduled on Wed and Thu to 'improve' our forum experience. (faster servers, etc.) It appears this avatar issue is an unintended consequence; they're working on it.

I found that just waiting for awhile seemed to fix the problem, I rebooted and signed out and signed in and it eventually worked

I always cringe when upgrades happen. Always followed by glitches. Tried all the tricks listed and no go. I will just wait until it is fixed.

Thanks for the input!

Chopper this sequence works for me

Home Page, profile, avatar, hit browser back arrow, hit browser forward arrow. This brings up the personal computer choice option.

When I repeat the sequence the personal computer choice option was taken away. Do it again and it came back.

Hope this works for you.

Getting closer. It worked in that I had the choice to browse thru my computer. However, the picture (whose size I checked) did not load and now I can't get it to appear again. I will leave it for now and try later. Thanks!
