WOW!
We've been in the 70's for the last few days and will be pushing 80 by the end of the week!  Laughing
I don't trust it though and I will be waiting until after the 1st to put anything in our beds yet. Got seedlings sprouting up in my starter kits and will need to transplant them into something bigger soon!

The snow's a little deeper at your house than mine, but can you tell which boxes have heated MM?

And what might be inside?

Oh man...and I thought I had it bad.  This last storm left me for 12 hours without power and deposited more ice than snow.  So glad I got out to my compost pile before it arrived coz I sure ain't going out there now!  Mad

My girls playing in the white-out conditions today.  At least someone is enjoying it.  :-)  I'm really looking forward to spring this year.

Besides October when we had the big storm that killed a bunch of cattle and had me trapped at home for 4 days we really have had not much snow but it has been so much colder than usual.  I am sick of it!  I want our regular winters back!  I am really curious to see if we get any big storms this April, that's when we have most of our snow days!

No snow for the last two weeks and temp's in the 60's for highs. Only one small problem, five days of incredible wind with gusts to 50 knots. Lost the north roof of my other greenhouse and the east wall looks like it may fail. To windy to repair if I can.

Post  dixie on 2/18/2014, 11:43 am

We get maybe one snow a year, but have had 2 this year.  The first one was mostly ice (I'm 1 1/2 hours north of Atlanta)  but last week we got 10", a real biggie for us.

I have sweet potatoes sprouting in water, rhubarb, leeks, shallots, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, peppers, Space spinach & some perennial flowers growing under grow lights & will start my tomatoes in another week.  Our frost-free date is April 15, but I always plant a few things too early & usually have good luck by covering on cold nights.

Come on Spring!!

Wow, Dixie! I am jealous of all you have started already! 10 inches is pretty bad when your not used to it!

I think the wind has been worse everywhere this year! So sick of it! We took advantage of the nice weather yesterday and got a nice pile of wood cut for the next cold snap! We are supposed to get snow this weekend but I don't think it's supposed to get very cold, 20's, I can handle that  lots o
