These are the plants I have going so far in 2014

Post  Cajunsmoke14 on 3/2/2014, 7:32 pm

Here are a few pictures of my garden beds:

Red Candy

Yellow Candy, sorry the picture is sideways. Couldn't figure out how to delete it and put another.

Celery

Radish

Carrots

Beets

Potato in a tire

These are my fall cabbage, for me they were a big disappointment. They never did anything but sit there. Hopefully the Spring SFG will be better.

Hope you enjoy the pictures

Sweet Cajun!  It sure motivates me that spring must be close as I watch the sleet and snow fall here.  It makes me feel better that I have some seeds started under the lights.    Here's wishing you a great growing season!

Today it's sleeting here in South Louisiana, but I covered all my plants. Hopefully they will be ok. This is the only day this week it is to be below freezing. Saturday it should be back in the 70's.

Happy Gardening

Starting seeds

Post  ImmahGardener on 3/23/2014, 12:28 pm

Very nice pictures Cajun, it must be awesome to be able to be out and about, i have to admit i am a bit envious of you. lol   I am waiting in anticipation to be able to be out gardening myself. I live in the far northeast so we got alot of snow on the ground and more to come!   But i haven't let that stop me from starting some seeds!    Right now, indoors, i have some Red Wing Onion seedlings, i actually got a few celery seeds to sprout (after my 2nd try), and i have some Radishes growing, i am trying to grow them completely inside, unlike the other plants that i will transplant out in my SFG, when nature allows. What kind of Radish are you growing? Mine our Cherry Belles.  And i also have a mix of early varieties as well.  I have trouble posting pictures on here so i can't show you mine.    I look forward to seeing yours and everyone elses wonderful plant pictures &  I wish you a very happy healthy growing season!

Happy Gardening
Grumble, grumble... no one ever said the South would be like this.  It ended up being a pretty day today in Middle Georgia.  It will be 28 Tuesday night and 31 Wednesday night (according to the latest weather report).  Our heating/air system is very confused.

On a positive note, the aphids that keep trying to infest my kale are assassinated by the freezing temps every few days.
