Hi - I'm new. :-)  Thinking about starting a square foot veggie garden.  This concerns me, as I just recovered from a serious termite problem. My garden will be about 30 feet from my house. Do I need to worry?  What do you use for the beds if you don't use lumber?? Thanks!

Pawsplus,  Welcome to the Forum from California!   glad you\'re here  There are termites where ever there is wet wood.  Your garden is far enough away from the house.  It is what is next to the foundation and exterior walls that is the most important thing. I found out that termites lived and thrived in my PTL raised boxes next to the foundation. Then they moved into the exterior wall of the living room! $$ The boxes just fell apart from the termites. Some folks have used cement blocks for their beds.
