Are the rattlesnake beans shelled or cooked unshelled like other green beans?

Rattlesnake beans are excellent as a fresh green snap bean but also make nice dried beans. If grown for dried beans they must be dried and cooked well. http://m.wikihow.com/Avoid-Food-Poisoning-from-Undercooked-Beans
