First time gardener in Atlanta, GA

Post  kkalasa on 4/28/2010, 7:13 pm

Hi Everyone, I've already posted a few times but never introduced myself. First off, I'm a do first, ask questions later kind of person. This is my first time ever planting a garden (aside from one tomato plant years ago that only produced 1 tomato and a couple herb pots that I dumped entire seed packets into then never watered). I really want to lose my typical black thumb.
I heard about square foot gardening and heard about a few people having success with it. The next day I built a 12" high raised bed and promptly started filling it with composted manure and top soil. The next day I heard about Mel's Mix. Oops. So my garden adventure pretty much follows along that same line. Jump in, make a mistake, try to fix it after the fact.

I'll be on this forum a lot, tiring everyone out with my questions. Smile

Welcome to the gardening forum of all gardening forums. I hope you bring on the questions. I learn from every question that gets asked and from every answer or opinion that is given. So bring it on!

God Bless, Ward.

Welcome. The nice thing about gardening is even if you mess things up the first time around there is always the the next growing season to give it another shot. These little plants really just want to grow so if you give them just a little love they will flourish.
