Most of us grow our gardens for fun and personal use, and can manage to purchase food for the family if we fail.  Can you imagine the stress the farmers are dealing with knowing an entire growing season can go down with the frosts.  i did notice that very few fields around my house are planted yet.

Turns out I lost quite a few tomatoes.  Some of which were flowering...

Oh, well...  We'll get started again today.

But I did see that a cantaloupe was poking up!  Woo-hoo!

To those who have lost early plants due to the cold, I'm sorry.  Sad

Me too.

Although I may be joining the ranks. I haven't checked mine yet. I'm in denial. Maybe tomorrow.

I always have a back up...
Local plant selling shops, they may have their problems but I will have tomatoes, pepper, cukes, etc anyway...
In august I wil plant for the fall and won't worry about any frost....

I went to Home Depot this evening to get my replacement tomatoes and tomatillos. $$ Yikes! Starting everything from seeds sure spoils one.

You ain't kiddin', Sanderson!  Went back hoping the Bonnie's plants were still on sale.  Nope...  And I'm not willing at this point to spend almost twice as much.

CC - Love your new avatar!

It started raining day before yesterday and hasn't quit long enough to get out there to see what's doing okay.
