The new TT SFG

Post  Theresa on 4/30/2010, 1:42 pm

This is my husband Bob, (I think I will call him Bob the builder) he made our final addition to our SFGs, the table top SFG.

We thought about what to use for legs and he came up with a great idea.

Mixes the mix right in the box

Takes a break

Then plants it. This is our last addition for this year, just have to sit back and watch it all grow.
The Greene Family SFGs.

I love your wood trellis, did he build that too? If so I'd love to know how, I need something more permanent for the tomatos.

Very impressive garden.

That's really beautiful. I love how its so high so that you don't have to bend too far to take care of it.
And the location is great.
Good job, Bob, the Builder!

Thanks everyone for all your compliments!
And the bricks didn't cost a thing! The neighbor had a pile of old bricks and I asked him if he wanted to sell them and he asked me if I wanted them to make something for my garden and when I told him yes, he just gave them to me.

Bob made the wooden trellis too, he just made it up as he built it, he didn't have any plans to go by.

Beautiful garden!

Post  carolintexas on 5/8/2010, 6:58 pm

I love the brick columns....beautiful! This is my first year to attempt sq ft gardening. We made 4 boxes on the ground and have already decided next year I will add TT boxes. I have wondered what to use to raise them up, how much support the boxes would need, etc. Other TT gardeners please send other ideas on how you built yours.

TT gardens

Post  Bec on 5/8/2010, 7:43 pm

Carolintexas, I haven't done it yet but my plan is to build TT with pallets. I'm going to take 2 pallets for each 4x4 garden. 1 for the table, 1 for the bottom, and nail boards to the top and bottom. I think this will be strong enough to hold the garden. I need mine off the ground to protect from critters.
