Zucchini fruits dying off

Zucchini fruits dying off

What would make my zucchini die off when they reach about 3 inches long?  they start off great but then turn yellow at the blossom end and die off at about 3-4 inches long.

I was so looking forward to lots of zucchini!

Lack of proper pollination of the female flower.
