Bonjour from North Bay, Ontario

Post  Derek L on 5/28/2014, 1:55 pm

First of all, I have to say that I was pretty excited when I read the Facebook post regarding this course. I have been reading up on the SFG method (along with others) for the last year and have been recently purchasing everything that I thought I required to start.

I am an unemployed Ontario Certified Teacher in Visual Arts and Computer Science and have been interested in gardening for quite some time. Unfortunately, although I have a lot theoretical know-how from a large variety of YoutTube videos, books, and articles relating to gardening, I have very little practical experience. (My wife and I are still renting an apartment, so the outside garden area is slim-to-none). My parents have been highly enthusiastic with the SFG, and will let me use their garden space to "experiment"

I am hoping that this course will push me in the right direction to be a knowledgeable SFGardener and that I will be able to pass on my knowledge to my future students, colleagues, and local community.

Although I encourage any member within this forum to PM me with questions/suggestions, anyone that is relatively close to my location/hardiness zone (Zone 4a), I would love to keep in touch with you as we learn throughout this course.

Cheers,

Derek
