I saw this guy high up on the exterior stucco wall at the juncture of the patio roof.  It's been years since I have seen one in the back yard. Locally called a fence lizard. He was only 3" + from nose to tip of the tail.

Finally one of these sat still enough (it's sunning on a terra cotta-colored plastic planter) that I could get more than a shiny green blur and look it up!

This is a cuckoo wasp. The adults are pollinators, but the offspring are parasites of various other bees and wasps and a few other insects, varying with the species.
I think this one is Chrysis angolensis, like this:

We have something similar, but with all our cats, the ones we see rarely have tails. Sad
