Bee Toxic Pesticides

Post  Denese on 6/17/2014, 2:35 pm

Hopefully posting this isn't against the rules.  If it is, I apologize.

This is an article regarding a bill recently introduced in Congress [The Saving America's Pollinators Act (H.R. 2692)] to suspend the use of neonicotinoid pesticides, a.k.a neonics, the most widely used insecticides in the world.  Exposure to neonics has become a key culprit in bee population losses.  For those of us who are able to vote in the United States, this is a way to hopefully help save our pollinators.

This has been posted previously in another part of the forum. I will move this post to it later. AND Thanks for posting this during National Pollinators week.

Sadly I think H.R. 2692 is tabled/DOA. Track the Bill here https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/hr2692

Thank you, camprn!  Hadn't seen this before.  I've just recently rejoined the forum.  It's probably being circulated among my Michigan friends because it is National Pollinators Week.  Maybe if enough people contact their congressmen/women this week, the bill will get moving again.  Very Happy
