Those are normal root nodes on the main stem, as far as I can tell.

It's hard to tell if they look a little pale, because it could be a lighting/camera issue, but I couldn't see any disease either. Like camprn says, those little nobby things on the stem are normal with tomatoes.

it seemed to me that the some of the upper leaves were wilting and when I saw the white bumps running up the main stem I thought it was a disease!
I was so depressed thinking it was a bad thing!
much relieved!
