Garden is Rockin'

Post  landarch on Sat 12 Jul 2014 - 18:34

honey bee working on cucumber blossom

Picked the first of the green peppers (Fat N' Sassy), heirloom and hybrid tomatoes, and cucumbers (Straight 8, Chelsea Prize, Marketmore).  I was about ready to give up growing peppers as I was getting tired of thin-walled, tiny peppers...but took the advice of a few people and avoided buying bedding plants with poor genetics and went with some quality seed and started indoors myself...peppers are fat, blocky, and thick-walled. This is my first year growing heirloom tomatoes...and they have yet to disappoint...already making a list for next year's line-up.
