FREE AMAZON DIGITAL BOOK - Farmhouse Classics - Hearty Soups and Broths 70 Recipes

Post  Windmere on 8/11/2014, 8:55 pm

Well, fall and winter are approaching.  In light of that, I was happy to stumble on Amazon's #1 Free Cookbook (as of today 8/11/2014).

The link for "Farmhouse Classics - Hearty Soups and Broths" (by Alison Lingard) follows:

http://www.amazon.com/Farmhouse-Classics-homemade-straight-farmhouse-ebook/dp/B00JR8UX4E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407803972&sr=8-1&keywords=farmhouse+classics+hearty+soups

One dish I can't wait to prepare is called "'Sniffles be gone' Orange Chicken Soup."  It has orange and lemon citrus notes combined with bold ginger, soy sauce and rosemary seasonings. (I haven't tried it yet, so I can't make any guarantees.)

Many recipes go in the slow cooker... a method of cooking I dearly love.

As always, the free deal could disappear at any time.

I wonder what the broth base is. I've had Asian soups that are lemony because of the use of lemon grass, but I suppose that flavor could come from more familiar/available citrus, too.

Thanks for the heads up!

No lemon grass in the recipe for this one.  It calls for low sodium chicken broth.  I know what you're talking about though.  I've come across quite a few SE Asian soups that have lemon grass in them.

I make my own chicken stock so it's very low sodium! I'm more a fan of stock than broth, but not everyone likes that density of flavor.
