Mid-South: November 2014 - BRRR!

Post  AtlantaMarie on 11/2/2014, 9:01 am

Cold front moved in on Halloween.  Woke up yesterday to the wind howling.  The newsies said that there was 2 inches of snow on top of Brasstown Bald (highest peak in GA).

Other areas of the NGA mountains got snow as well, so I'm assuming that TN, NC, etc. also got some.

On some trees, the leaves are falling so fast it looks like they're snowing.  The color's about gone, but it was nice while it lasted.

Finally cut down the Greek Basil yesterday afternoon.  I've got 3 big trays on the dehydrator.  Need to get the potatoes out this afternoon.  The luffa gourds are still going strong.  I counted 19 yesterday afternoon.  And, once again, one of the vines is trying to grab our camper...!  At least they've realized the neighbor's boat is off-limits, lol!

What's going on in your area?

Yep, I saw on the news that NC mountains got snow.  And the upper part of the lower south got frost.

We were predicted to have lows of 30*F last night.  But my Gilberite and everything else survived and doesn't look like we got that low last night.  Predicted for 30*F again tonight.  We'll see.

Yeah....  I looked at the leaves on my luffa vines...  Not good.

It's supposed to be warm today, so I'll get out there & mow & check everything still left on the vines and plants.  And maybe I'll get the potatoes pulled too!
