Winter Time - What to do when you can't garden: Quilt(Bea)

Post  sanderson on 11/8/2014, 9:19 pm

I'm posting these photos of QuiltBea's winter handiwork that she emailed me.  When her garden goes to sleep under the snow, QB stays busy until spring with quilting.  If it can be quilted, she makes it!

The little gift bags are 6, 5 and 4" tall:

Table runner:
Placemats:
Quilt blanket:
QuiltBea, Thank you for sharing.

Nice! I have a neighbor who's really into that too. She takes part in a quilting club and they enjoy quilting and chatting up a storm. She made us a great doggy-themed quilt. Great hobby.

The same thing I did when I couldn't fish, I thought about fishing
When I cannot garden, I think about it all the time.
Retired, nothing else to do....

Lovely quilts, Quiltbea!  I don't have the patience to invest the time to make quilts so I design quilting fabric instead, LOL!  Here's one of my collections: http://www.inthebeginningfabrics.com/cgi-server/itb/displayfab.cgi?product=rnnclsflral

And here's a quilt designed with them: http://www.inthebeginningfabrics.com/cgi-server/itb/displayfab.cgi?product=rnnclsflral

Other than that, I'm blessed to be able to garden year around though it slows down during the winter.  It's my exercise program - gather poo, chop stuff, make compost, spread compost, plant stuff, harvest, rinse and repeat, LOL!

Those are beautiful, Quiltbea!

I read, plan my next garden, study other things that interest me, woodworking in the (heated) garage...
