Burning Question

Post  johnp on 11/17/2014, 8:07 am

We have desided to have Thanksgiving dinner this Sun. because we are leaving the day after and don't want the leftovers. I will spatchock the turkey because we have everything that we need. My wife was reading the instructions and asked if we had a lot of aniseed that was required for the rub. I said we had plenty and she said no we didn't. I said yes we do because it's fennel and we have plenty. She said it is different. So here is the burning question. Do I spatchock a turkey with fennel rub or do I drive to a far away city, drive around the block 16 times looking for a place to park to find aniseed?

It seems your wife is correct on fennel and anise NOT being the same plant.
Why not use the fennel and not worry about driving to find aniseseed?
