Starting seeds- Self-watering, or no?

Post  J Long on 1/29/2015, 9:43 am

I am about to order a few supplies for starting seeds and have seen the "self-watering " mats available.  Some like 'em , some don't.  Are they typically proprietary items? (working only within specific makers/systems)

Thoughts?

Why not try them both ? Then you can decide which you prefer.
I water from the bottom, however on occasion, I'll water above also.
