UK succession sowing calendar?

Post  charlesnic19 on 2/8/2015, 8:21 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this and need help.... My beds will be ready for sowing/transplants when the weather warms up in spring time (West Yorkshire). Does anyone have a sowing calendar that will guarantee me food each week for the whole year? I can't get my head around succession planting.... I have 6, 4x4 raised beds and would like to grow mainly veg and herbs. Hope you can help me with a weekly 'to do' list.

Thanks in advance
Charles

Hi Charles ,
Welcome to the site , are you doing Mels all new square foot gardening method ?
Details of the current books we use are in my strap lines

Succession sowing simply means sowing a few seeds every 10 days or so throughout the sowing season suggested on the seed packet .

Do you know how to use the PM system to send me your name & address it is shown as " PM " in the green band near  the top of each page .

I live near Swansea South Wales but am a Yorkie by birth and mind set  Laughing .

I have designed a blank calender printed on A3 paper that you can annotate almost every week of the year on it for every line of calender . I'm happy to send you a couple and one of the ones I used last year as an example of how it worked for me .

This means you can sit down for an hour or so to write the crop name & draw a different coloured line for the sowing season , transplanting times & likely harvestings.

Then simply tick off every time you sow some of the seeds , transplant or harvest the crop .

Plantoid - it won't let me send you a PM or send my email address as I haven't had my account for 7 days. Here is the message I was trying to send you....

Hi plantoid!

Thanks for the reply to my post yesterday. Would it be possible for you to email me the calendar to the address below? I will be using the square ft method for my plot..

Would you be able to drop me a PM with the calendar.
Thanks again Smile
