Potatoes in bed

Post  jimmy cee on 2/10/2015, 12:16 pm

I have finished this bed, all filled and ready to go..Potatoes will be planted here with the ability to add height as crop grows.
I have a total of 20 squares, 16 of them are 1 foot, four are a little bit less.
A suggestion as to how many potato seeds I should plant will be appreciated as I have never had potatoes in my bed..

Jimmy

The book says 4 to a square and that's what I've done the past couple years and the foliage completely fills each square foot and more.  I end up adding support around the sides to keep plants from flopping over on windy days.

I have planted them quite successfully at 6 inches apart in gardens that don't have grids (which would equal 4 to a square planted at 3 inches and 9 inches in a SFG foot).

Thanks
I believe in this bed I am going to have imaginary grids.
