On behalf of the Rest of Canada.
 I have no snow here in British Columbia and I was able to do an hour of outside clean-up.

LOL!  Yep!  That's about how I feel.

Yes, I do use containers.  Here is a pic one of the windowboxes on my deck from 2013.  I've got about 8 of them end to end for herbs and then 5-gallon buckets for other things.
