grub in compost

Post  jimmy cee on 4/25/2015, 7:38 am

I picked up this grub deep in my compost.
Trying to identify which type it is and after reading the info on raster markings I find this grub has no markings or identifying features on it's raster. This grub is completely free of any hair follicles on it's body.

Actually, that is a nice photo of the thing. When I get back from out of town this weekend, I will have to look up 'raster' and try to id mine.

We get that same grub in our cold compost windrow from time to time.  If you have robins, they will almost come eat those out of your hand.  It's their pizza.
