Another year

Post  KG Hville on Tue 28 Apr 2015 - 12:49

Wondering if anyone can give me some advice...do I need to replace my soil (SFG mix) every year or just add to it before planting? Also, my boxes are full of small black ants and pill bugs...good thing or bad?

KG, Welcome to the Forum from California! glad you\'re here

You only make the Mel's Mix once. After that you only add 5-source compost before replanting.

Pill bugs can be controlled with Sluggo Plus. The Plus version takes care of snails, slugs, pill bugs and earwigs. It is also one of the safest insecticide products to use around cats.

Please, if you have a question, just ask. We are here. Have you read the book All New Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew? Just checking. Very Happy
