Do you know this worm??

Post  Cajun Cappy on 7/11/2015, 12:48 pm

Every once in a while I see a big glob of caterpillars.  Often on a tree or the side of our shed.  When I do I usually spray them or sweep them to the ground and stomp on them but I do not kn ow what they are.  A friend posted a picture of them so I thought I would ask you gardening pro's if ya know what they are.  I am pretty sure they aint bag worms but dont know.

I'm not from your neck of the woods so I have no reasonable answer. Have you contacted your local Extension Service to ask?

The OPC seems to be a European caterpillar.

We have the Western tent caterpillar, so there must be a few varieties in No. America.
