Yellow/brown eggplants

Post  sanderson on Thu 6 Aug 2015 - 22:34

So far, the Black Beauty eggplants fruits are consistently a yellow-brown color.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Yeah. Those are banana peppers.

Just kidding. Honestly I don't recall seeing that before, in either black beauties that I've grown or others have grown, at least not at anything like that size. That's also not the usual bottom-heavy black beauty shape. I suspect you got a seed mix-up thing going here.

Edit: The leaves don't look like black beauty leaves either. Mine were much broader. Both fruit and leaves were much broader!

When I was growing my eggplants the last couple years it would happen from time to time, I never figured out why and eventually good fruit would follow.  I'll be following with interest to learn why if anyone knows  Very Happy
