It is SO hard to find good vermiculiite in the Antarctic! Very Happy

Welcome OscarKane!

The easiest way to find a lot of immediately applicable information is to break down what you want to know into categories, and then find the forum for each category. In the forum on seeds and plants, for instance, you'll find specific plants discussed in detail. If you'd like to build something interesting for the garden or get ideas for something to build, go to the do it yourself section, with all its plans and projects begun, completed and lived with(and paid for!) for a while. Or to the forum for your region, which can steer you away from advice that's perfectly good for someone else's region and more toward what a better fit for your garden.

The back pages are usually the best place to find things that have been chatted casually about long enough to have turned into their own concentrated threads. It's easier to find in-depth information about potatoes when you're reading a thread about ... potatoes!

So explore the site a bit, and you'll likely get more out of it. We have great people here, with a lot of combined experience and often the pictures to show what they've learned and what they're learning. But digging through the forum may help take you past the daily discussions toward more focused learning opportunities.

Hello Oscar ,

Welcome from the UK , being much closer to CHINA than most of us should see you able to get the vermiculite much cheaper and easier. Wink

If you go to the top of the page and look in the green band , click on " Home "   then move to the left of the screen .......a vertical column of bobbly bits comes up  ..hover over these and you can quickly go to quite a few core threads .
When I joined five or so years ago it took me several weeks to go through all the threads .. but it really was worthwhile as in the end I have a great square foot gardening set up thanks to Mel and folk on the site.
