Re: sunflower in Mel's Mix

That's HUGE! I put sunflowers in my first SFG several years ago; they thrived. When it came time to pull the stalks, they had grown through the landscape cloth under my boxes & as I tried to yank them, I tore my right rotator cuff. I have been hesitant to grow them again! This year I have a volunteer in with my pole beans - that's kinda fun. The beans are using it to climb. It's just about ready to bloom at 6 feet or so.

Let's see.  Suzy tore a rotatory cuff pulling out a sunflower, Audrey hurt her back pulling a tomato out of her BTE.  Gardening can be hazardous to your health.

That space will have some okra, also, next summer.  Seed wise, I thought I would try some for eating raw, and the rest for the birds and probably the bushy red squirrel that ran by me on the the fence this morning. Wink
