Hello from Statesville, NC

Post  Rev Ryan on 1/4/2016, 8:23 pm

Greetings everyone!  Just wanted to stop by and say hello.  I am very familiar with the original SFG method and have totally immersed myself into the improvements as set forth in the second addition - they are amazing.  I will be taking the online SFG Instructor Certification starting next Tuesday.  I look forward to getting to know each of you and I'm willing to help whenever I can.  Have a great night, Ryan

glad you\'re here from Ohio, Ryan! Glad you have stumbled upon our group, we are a very chatty bunch for the most part! Sounds like you have some experience with SFG, many here do, and for me it has been very helpful making the transition from traditional gardening to the SFG method.

I had done the original SFG back in late 80s with lots of success. When I read Mel's new edition, I was amazed!

Post pictures when you get'em, they help us see what you are doing, plus, we love pictures!

Again, welcome Very Happy

Hi Rev Ryan and welcome from Canada. You will love the all new SFG. Looking forward to seeing photos of your progress. BTW it looks like we serve the same Master ... I am an itinerant preacher.

Thanks to all of you who have so graciously welcomed me to the forum.

Scorpio - I am originally from Akron, OH but can't recall where Ada is.  Glad to see a fellow Buckeye here.

Sanderson - Thanks for the shout out.  I will certainly post pics (I'm praying they are good ones) as the garden begins to grow.

Trolleydriver - I appreciate the welcome and encouraging words.  Yes, we do serve the same Master.  SFG is allowing me to extend my ministry to ensure many people not only have food but  get to eat wholesome, fresh produce.

Walshevak - Hello fellow NC friend.  I see that you are a certified instructor - I start the online class on Tuesday.  Quick question if I may - would Statesville (just north of Charlotte) be considered in the Lower South Region?  I was trying to figure it out last night.

Thanks again everyone - Ryan

And welcome from Atlanta, GA, Rev Ryan!

In looking at allthingsplants.com, I think you are in Deep South as you suspect. Your growing dates are 3/29 - 11/9. I'm in Mid-south & our dates are slightly different.

Glad you've joined us!

According to the zip code finder, you are in the Middle South.  Lower South hugs the NC coast more and starts moving west in SC.  But for forum purposes, you are welcome to comment and post in any region.

Welcome from New York, Rev Ryan!  Always good to have new folks to chat with Smile  Are you going to be teaching the SFG methods to folks in your church, or growing a church garden (or anything along those lines)?
