Introduction from Byron, Georgia ...

Post  ssdeanda on 2/15/2016, 10:01 pm

I am happy to be a part of this forum and can't wait to learn more about gardening.

I have gardened in several other states, but am a new gardener in Georgia and am eager to learn. I have Mel Bartholomew's Book and have already built our boxes, just about ready to make our own mix and fill ... still shopping for supplies ... just got over the shock of shipping charges from Home Depot  Shocked

Hello Ssdeanda. Welcome from Atlanta (well... Buford), GA! Glad you're here!

You might check your local, smaller nursery for the compost. Or Craigslist for local farmers....

Please be sure to check out the archives section in the forum. There's LOTS of great info there.

We like photos! (hint, hint)

Welcome from Brooks, Ga.  Don't know where Byron is so that may mean it is in the country.  If so, try your local Feed and Seed Store.  That is where I found the best prices on Vermiculite and some types of compost and wheat straw.  Southern States if you have one near you is a good source.

I checked a map to see where you live, near Macom? Your Craig's List had aged horse manure.
