Love it! Personal weather habitat! Until the wind we have been experiencing....

Mine are covered tonight again...with towels. Next year or this Fall, I would like to have some better protection planned than my clean rag towels! Maybe some of that Agribon?

Gonna be in the mid to low 20s....I have lost some spinach; the peas, kale, radish sprouts, and believe it or not the Black Seeded Simpson lettuce is still alive...nothing is growing, just trying to stay alive.

Snowed a few minutes ago.... lots o

Geeze, lookit that thing! BUT, it's making me think inside the box. Make this square and when not in use we can put it over the SFG!

UPDATE
This kohlrabi bed made it through 18 degree temp's 2 nights in a row. After trimming off the burned leaves they are all now coming back with a vengeance. I think maybe a quick  freezing snap may be good for cool crops.

This bed of kohlrabi made it, I removed a few plants because I didn't think they would mature before tomato's had to go in, maybe these won't either. Although these plants are doing great. I never even added any compost yet...Could it possibly be my compost is good for 2 seasons
?

It certainly did my other plants, lettuce, arugula, kale, etc.
I may never know about these for they are in where my peppers will be.
Shame that they all may wind up in the compost pile...I'll do more in August for fall.

Shocked
You're going to compost them? You can eat those greens, Jimmy. Cook them up like collards or spinach or put them in smoothies or salads.
They are gorgeous!

Oh but he will be depriving his compost of all that luscious nitrogen.  What a quandary.  Eat it or feed it to the compost.  Tsk Tsk.

Jimmy, nooo!  If your kale survived those low temps, it might have turned sweet due to sugar production stimulated to prevent freezing of leaves.  Russian Kale is particularly good that way.  My wife sautees it in a coconut/olive oil mixture and chopped garlic, salt and pepper to taste, and it is awesome!

Those supersmeltz kohlrabis survived that deep freeze.
2 nights of 18 degrees and not covered. I'll have beds full of them come fall.
