Given their location in Quebec, their garden is probably buried under snow for about 6 months each year.  Drummondville's annual average snowfall is 95 inches.

I wonder how they keep the local creatures (dogs, cats, raccoons, squirrels, kids, etc.) out the garden?

There is actually a garden that looks a lot like that one in Mooney's Bay in Ottawa. At least it looked that way when they set it up last year. The landscapers work hard on it for weeks. I may pass it tomorrow- and I can take a picture. It is on the way home from my kids' school. How do you post pics by the way?

Looking forward to the real photos. There is a thread under "How to do things on the Forum." It's outdated as Forumotion changed the graphics for posting photos but it is a start. Darn, I lost the program for capturing page photos. Does anyone know what free program I can down load that will work with Windows 7?

I use an online system called Photobucket to store my photos. I arrange them into folders by topic. To post a photo on the forum, I first bring it up on the screen in Photobucket and then click on a box called "IMG". That allows me to copy the link for that photo which I then paste into my post on the forum. The only downside I find with Photobucket is that there are a lot of advertisements on their web pages.

Thanks. I just post photos to My Pictures. I need to be able to copy screen and be able to write or insert arrows.

Sounds a little complicated, but I'll try when I have more time. The good news is that I did take the pictures and they turned out well.

I have to say that the yard doesn't look all that bad with the boxes, and gravel and wood chips. At least they cleaned it up for winter, or did it look like it was freshly cleaned. The only shabby areas are the in-ground beds. Very Happy

Really interesting.  They are the civil rights front yard garden movement people.  Great spokespersons, I thought.

Why a community would give a *%$ about what you do with your front yard, as long as it looks decent, which IT DID,no idea.

And...there are busy body know it alls everywhere.... Evil or Very Mad

My front area used to be the horrible trial area for tomatoes, peppers, etc.  Nothing survived in the horrible dense clay.  Except the perennials. And the bird feeders!
