bring on the rain!

Post  happyfrog on 5/11/2010, 8:20 am

we're starting a 4 day rain here in central ohio. i'm thrilled! means i can go spend a couple minutes this afternoon and plant a few squares of different varieties (radish, beets, carrots) and by sunday, when the rain is done, have baby plants w/o any effort.

sfg rock! i don't get all muddy and dirty in the process - just a little damp for a few minutes and my fingers get dirty, but easily remedied. . .

do you guys also look forward to rainy days so you can plant seeds, too?

bettyann - i am also thrilled that it is raining. and also that the nights are in the 50s. i had ice on my grill cover the other morning! my dining room is beginning to look like a jungle with all of the babies waiting to be planted. and my rain barrel is getting filled! woo hoo! i love when it rains on a work day! (adding to my jungle are the 100 tadpoles that finally hatched! they are so darn cute!)

I dont like to plant seed in the rain, I will try to get it in the ground before rainfall. For me rainy days mean burning brush, maintaining/cleaning house & if I'm lucky a nap.
